CIVIL PROJECT ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER
Salary: DOE   
Position: Full Time - Permanent
Job Description:
Groundhogs, LLC is seeking an Estimator/ Civil Project Manager for the Interior of Alaska area. The Project Manager is responsible for the estimating and management of small to large, complex client projects. This position is responsible for all aspects of a project including estimating, planning, directing, coordinating and supervising various projects. Other duties include forecasting jobs, allocating resources for the project, oversight and support of field management team, and conducting safety meetings. 

Essential Functions:
Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFP's/RFQ’s), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine scope of work and content to establish costs, preparation time, schedules, materials, design and labor estimates as well as reviewing all documentation for accuracy and competitive bidding. 

Develop various estimates including, but not limited to: time and material, lump sum, and unit pricing estimates. 

Confirm that all permits and licensed have been obtained.

Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and vendors. 

Break down the scope of work into definable tasks for crews.  

Ensure project needs and objectives are being met. 

Coordinate with designated Quality Control and Health & Safety representatives to ensure Groundhogs, LLC's and project standards are met.  

Minimize company exposure and project performance risks. 

Manage project changes and prepare change orders where necessary.

Prepare field reports and after action reports.

Analyze and track project financial performance. 

Work independently and conduct tasks with limited supervision and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 
Three years experience in estimating for public and private civil projects required.
Five years experience in private and civil project management experience, including environmental remediation as it relates to projects including, but no limited to soil stabilization, waterway remediation, groundwater control, site preparations, excavation and earthwork construction.  

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent related work experience.

Must have a valid Drivers License and the ability to travel as needed. Able to work in a construction site environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, toxic materials, waste and infectious materials while working in inclement weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:  
Employee must be able to pass a DOT Physical and be able to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing computer terminals and extensive reading. Employee will be required to participate in the FMCSA DOT Drug & Alcohol Screening Program.
Employee will be subject to a variety of conditions - proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current, working in excavation areas, exposure to high heat and cold.  



EXPERIENCED AK CDL TRUCK DRIVER 
Salary: DOE
3 Positions Available. 
Seasonal Position, begins in April. 
Essential Functions:
Have 5 years experience operating semi-tractor trailers in a construction environment. 
Have experience hauling and operating trailers, including end dumps and belly dumps.
Familiar with Fairbanks and North Pole  and its assorted quarry's. Inside and outside city limits. 
Knowledgeable and experienced loading, securing and unloading heavy equipment in a safe manner. 
Exhibit safe driving skills, maintain a clean truck in awesome working order.   




LABORERS
Salary $13.00
3 Positions Available
Seasonal- Part-time to Full-time position begins in April 
Perform manual tasks for Commercial Lot Maintenance.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs continuously.  Operate and maintain assorted small machines including lawn mowers, leaf blowers and string trimmers, and other machines as needed. Will be sometimes asked to work with the excavation crews, shoveling and moving materials. We will put the right person through flagger training.
